On the Evidence

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use On the Evidence. The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every chart has a text description and a “Show the numbers as a table” option, so the figures can be read with a screen reader.
  • Technical terms can be opened for a plain-English definition with a keyboard or by tapping.
  • Colours have been chosen to work for people with common colour vision deficiencies, and the site supports light and dark mode.
  • The year slider and all buttons can be used with a keyboard.
  • The site works on mobile phones and when zoomed to 400%.
